ARFID stands for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. It is a relatively new diagnosis (added to the DSM-5 in 2013) that describes a serious eating disorder where a person limits the amount or type of food they eat. In this video Connie explains the seriousness of ARFID and how it differs from more common instances of picky eating. ARFID is a serious eating disorder and requires both psychological and feeding therapy.
