Nocturnal Enuresis is also known as bedwetting. It can be caused by the following factors:

  • Genetics- Did you know that bedwetting can be inherited? If there is a history of bedwetting in the family your child will most likely inherit it.

  • Vasopressin- This is a hormone also known as the Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH). This hormone reduces the amount of urine that the human body produces. Your child may not be producing a lot of this hormone yet which means their body is creating more urine than they can hold.

  • Maturity- All children are different. Some kids can learn to control their bladder at a young age and other children might need a little more time. Be patient and understanding with your child as they embark on their potty training journey.
